Gas Explosion in Odesa: Impact and Assistance for Victims

This afternoon in Odesa, on Marselskaya Street, a gas explosion in a stove caused a fire in the apartment on the first floor of a nine-story building.

Rescue teams quickly responded to the scene and extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to neighboring apartments.

Unfortunately, the owner of the apartment, born in 1981, suffered burns covering 35% of his body and was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of a burn center. Also injured was a salon employee (born in 1987) located next to the apartment, who received minor cuts from flying glass due to the explosion.

Psychologists from the State Emergency Service were on site to provide psychological support to local residents.

A total of 9 units of equipment and 33 firefighters were involved in the operation.
