The suspects were part of an extensive drug trafficking network operating across 15 regions of Ukraine. Investigators seized narcotic substances and psychotropic drugs worth over 6 million UAH, preventing their distribution. Six individuals have been charged and face up to 12 years in prison with asset confiscation.
According to the investigation, the criminals established powerful labs in private homes in Odesa, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, where they produced and stored psychotropic substances and narcotics. They distributed their products throughout Ukraine via the internet and delivery services.
The illegal business generated millions in profits each month.
During the investigation, police documented the suspects' criminal activities. More than 30 searches were conducted in properties used by the suspects in Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as their vehicles. Dozens of kilograms of drugs, several tons of precursors, equipment for drug production, packaging materials, communication devices, computers, cash, and vehicles were seized. Four drug labs were shut down.
The total value of the seized substances exceeds 6 million 350 thousand UAH and has been sent for examination.
Police have detained the drug dealers. Six individuals have been charged with:
- Part 2, 3 of Article 307 (illegal production and distribution of narcotic drugs) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine;
- Part 2, 3 of Article 311 (illegal production of precursors) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The offenders face up to 12 years in prison with asset confiscation.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Following the expert conclusions, investigators will provide a final legal qualification of the suspects' actions.
The operation was conducted by the Department for Combating Drug Crimes and other law enforcement agencies under the supervision of the prosecutor's office.
The police continue their fight against the illegal trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances.
