Free HIV Testing in Odesa

image

Despite the ongoing war, Odesa is actively implementing a program for free HIV testing available to anyone interested.

HIV testing is offered at all city hospitals, health centers, diagnostic facilities, and maternity wards.

Anyone can find out their HIV status for free in just 15 minutes by visiting a family doctor or undergoing a test in a hospital setting. This initiative is funded through the City Target Health Program.

In the first nine months of 2025, 29,240 people were tested for HIV in Odesa, leading to the identification of 268 positive cases.

Patients with positive results are referred to the City Center for the Prevention and Treatment of HIV/AIDS for further examination and to receive free highly effective antiretroviral therapy, which enables individuals living with HIV to lead fulfilling lives.

The organization of HIV testing and the coordinated work of multidisciplinary teams in Odesa have been highly praised by both local and global experts.
