Restoration of Odesa's Architectural Heritage After Attack

The mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, held a meeting regarding the restoration of architectural heritage buildings affected in the UNESCO zone and interacted with the residents of these structures.

Recently, a UNESCO mission visited Odesa to document the consequences of the Russian attacks on World Heritage sites.

Currently, emergency measures are being undertaken to restore the integrity of the roof coverings, excluding the most severely damaged sections where upper floors are nearly destroyed.

In these areas, structural damages are being assessed. More extensive repairs are needed to address these issues, requiring permissions from cultural heritage authorities.

During the meeting with Deputy Minister for Community and Territorial Development Vasyl Shkurakov, the Odesa mayor raised concerns about the need to eliminate legislative gaps that hinder residents of architectural heritage buildings from receiving compensation under the eRecovery program.
