Ukrposhta is preparing to launch new postage stamps showcasing lighthouses located along the Black and Azov Seas, including some situated in Crimea, which is currently under occupation.
This release is part of the "Lighthouses of Ukraine" series, initiated back in 2009, as reported by the company's representatives.
This year’s stamps coincide with the 25th anniversary of the State Hydrography, the institution responsible for the maintenance of Ukrainian lighthouses.
"This time, the stamps will tell the stories of the lighthouses of the Black and Azov Seas, including the Crimean lighthouses that, despite being temporarily occupied, remain an integral part of Ukraine both on the map and in the hearts of Ukrainians", explained Ukrposhta.
The new stamp set features:
- the Ay-Todor and Chaudyn lighthouses in Crimea;
- the Shagansky lighthouse in the Odessa region;
- the Bilosaraysky and Berdyansk Upper lighthouses in the Sea of Azov;
- the Rusky Zadni lighthouse, located on the Buh-Dnipro-Lyman Canal in Mykolaiv region.
